She currently operates her own sewing and alterations business.  Among her many clients are the University of Alabama Theatre and Dance Departments and the Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre.  In addition to sewing her hobbies include crocheting,beading, cross-stitching and watching HGTV.        Class Description:Crocheting is the art of using a hook to make loops into a shape.  It can be used to make jewelry, hats, bags shawls, etc.  This introductory class will teach basic techniques.  Each student will complete a scarf by the end of this three day class. Please bring your crochet hook(size J or K is a best for beginners).  You will also need a skein of medium weight, worsted yarn.  (Do not purchase eyelash, chenille, or any of the specialty yarns.  Acrylic, cotton or wool is best for beginners.) More than 220 students competed in last spring's competition. Gaiman's visit is funded in part by a grant from the Southern Arts Federation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
