The University of Alabama is soliciting feedback on the concept of a plaza that will be designed to commemorate and celebrate the Stand in the Schoolhouse Door, as well as the more personal moments that comprise the history of Foster Auditorium. While a timeline has not been established, our goal is to have all work finished by the time the building is ready for occupancy in September 2010. The University of Alabama System's Board of Trustees will review and approve all final decisions.

As you provide feedback, please remember that the historical commemoration must account for the fact that Foster will be a functioning building once again. Our goal is to make sure that the plaza provides a significant presence to the building and appropriately conveys and captures the significance of this historic event.
