HCA Talk: The Meaning of Hunger
Date: Wednesday, January 30, 2013
Time: 06:30 PM - 07:30 PM
Location: Riverside Community Center
Cost: free
Categories: Honors College, Lectures and Speakers
Dr. Elizabeth Cooper from the Anthropology department will be hosting a Talk to discuss the meaning of hunger and how we define it and measure it cross-culturally. Hunger, she will explain, is a complex concept encompassing a range of experiences, and she will push attendees to think about the issues and whether or not it is possible to construct a global standard for measuring the hunger experience.
HCA Talks are small, informal professor-led discussions about a topic that students may not have the opportunity to learn about in class. They are open to everyone and will have coffee and cookies.
