Moon received her MFA in painting from UA in 2012. She holds a BFA in painting from the University of Mississippi.
She writes about her work: "Lately my paintings have been for me a resting place in the midst of transience. I compose them from individual pieces of watercolor paper leftover from previous works. I keep these pieces of paper in piles and then I go through and refresh each piece by drawing back into it, altering its edges, and making it into a more decisive form. These forms, in their revised state, are visually beckoning one another. I group these forms and from these groupings new paintings emerge. In these paintings it appears that the forms could have been in the middle of an action, such as tumbling through space, traveling across space, or approaching another form, but the forms seem to have been stilled in the midst of their actions. Thus my paintings evoke forms caught in moments of paused energy; these paintings are visual interludes that offer a place of seeing in between stages of activity."
