Come joinThe University of Alabama Honors College for the Town Hall series in which issues and topics relevant to UA students are discussed by a panel of distinguished speakers. The goal of these events is to provide a forum to learn and engage in topics that affect us all.

The first UA Town Hall called "Cronkite to Colbert: What is News to You?"

Featuring:  
Dean Jennifer Greer- Interim Dean for the College of Communication and Information Sciences
Dr. Jennings Bryant- Harvard Professor
Dr. Rick Bragg-  Cason Professor of Writing, Department of Journalism

In this Town Hall we will be discussing how people receive their news, the credibility of that news, and the shift from the "golden age" mainstream news outlets such as Walter Cronkite and Edward Murrow, to more satirical and pop culture side of news sources such as John Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
