Dr. Henry Petroski, author and professor of engineering and history at Duke University, will be present his lecture, "Success and Failure in Engineering: A Paradoxical Relationship," on November 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Theater. Dr. Petroski is the author of several books including his most recent "To Forgive Design: Understanding Failure," and is a Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is also an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society and the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
